Gameballs...

After several weeks of not awarding any gameballs after tough Steeler losses, we can again hand out some gameballs for jobs well done. Bill Cowher called out some groups last week in his weekly press conference. He basically said that during the three losses that there were three areas in which our team was under achieving. Our offensive line play, our defensive secondary, and our special teams play. All three groups answered the call on Sunday and came ready to play. Instead of awarding an offensive and a defensive game ball I am going to alter it a bit. I am awarding balls to our entire offensive line and our special teams. Mr. Faneca and Mr. Morrey can accept the balls for their respective units.

Steelers Deliver Despite The Elements

The Steelers got off the schneid this past Sunday ending their three game losing streak by defeating the Bears 21-9 at Heinz Field. During the game we played through sleet, freezing rain, and high winds mixed in with a little snow. A great day for football in December. I am just glad I got to sit in my climate controlled living room to watch this one. This was one game it would have been tough to endure the elements. Our boys delivered though. End of story.

Great Players Under Cowher's Tenure

Rod Woodson, Carnell Lake, Greg Lloyd, and Dermonti Dawson. These are all potential Hall Of Famers who have played for Bill Cowher during his coaching career. Woodson is an automatic first ballot inductee, Dawson will get in at some point. Lloyd and Lake are possible, but a little tougher to make an argument for them to get an invite for Canton. We can not end our list with just these four players. Jerome Bettis needs to be added to this list. He is a sure bet to be in Canton one day. This past Sunday he turned back the clock and showed us all a little vintage "the Bus". He finished the day with 101 yards on 17 carries and two rushing touchdowns. This was his 61st 100 yard rushing game in his career. Hats off to a quality individual and all around good guy. He was named the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.

Great Signs From Sunday's Game

All of these signs came from this past weeks game against the Bears. My favorites are the little girl holding the sign at her first Steelers game, and the lady holding the sign to Santa showing a fifth Super Bowl ring as this teams gift this year. Awesome signs!

Celebrate The Holidays With Your Steelers

I am asking everyone to take a picture of themselves this holiday season and e-mail it to me so that I can add them to the blog. Get yourself and/or family decked out in the black and gold showing you and the tree, decorating the house, or playing around with the mistletoe. You pick your choice of picture. Let's see who can send the best or most comical picture. Send them to me and I will add them to the blog so that we can all enjoy them this month.

AFC North Update

The Cincy Bungles have taken control of the AFC North by handing the boys in black and gold a loss this past Sunday 38-31. Da Bungles are alone in first place with a record of 9-3 and host the 4-8 last place Brownies at 1:00. The second place 7-5 Steelers host da Bears at 1:00 At Heinz Field. Tied for last place in the division are the 4-8 Ravens who head to Denver to take on the Broncos at 4:15. Get your towels ready, our team needs us this week to end this losing streak. Here we go Steelers, here we go...

This is an old post but one I thought worthy of revisiting. Most of us no longer live within what we would consider "Stillers Country" so we do not get our "Stillers" on tv on Sunday afternoons. Steelers Fans South Of The Border!

I received these pics this evening from Jessica in the Steelers Nation. She was vacationing recently in Jamaica and ran into Antwaan Randle El. Pictured are Jessica (Pugh) Hardesty and a Jamaican Steelers fan. She wrote: "I was vacationing in Negril, Jamaica (my fav. place) and just happened to see a random Jamaican walking down the beach on Sunday with a Randle el jersey! Had to send you a pic, thought you might want it for your website!" "Yeah, mon, Go Steelers! No, problem! Jess and Rasta Randle El". Thanks for the pics Jess! Jessica is originally from Somerset, PA but now lives in Wilmington, NC.

Show The Faith...

Get your terrible towels out. Our boys need us this week for a big showdown against da Bears. At this point in the season we need to show the faith that we can right this ship. Here are some interesting signs from this past Sunday's game showing the "faith". I love the sign from the girl showing how she is spending her birthday "with" Ben. What do you think?

Bungles @ Steelers Game Notes.

Does this mean they are no longer the Bungles? Not in my mind. They "will always" be da "Bungles" in my heart. Lost Opportunities were left everywhere on the field on Sunday. We lost on the field 38-31, but the stat sheet displays numbers which will make you sick. We held the ball for 33:18 minutes of play. We had four turnovers compared to da Bungles none(three interceptions and one lost fumble. We actually put the ball on the turf four times on the afternoon but only lost one!). We had 28 first downs compared to 21 for Cincy. We had 474 net yards compared to 324 for Cincy. The list could go on for quite a ways. Just remember that Hines fumbled while we were driving to score, and that our special teams allowed their return team to take the ball back to our three yard line. End of story. Kyle Boller could lead a scoring drive from that distance! I could go on for days, but it serves no purpose. We need to win out and finish 11-5 and hope for other teams to slip in front of us so that we can make the post season. Ya gotta believe...

Pump Up The Volume!

Last week I read the below article in the Post Gazette and did not really give it any merit( You can click on the link to view last week's article.). Jack Del Rio, Head Jags Coach, commented on the the noise inside the RCA Dome this week due to the fact that his Jags travel to Indy to battle the 12-0 Colts. Read this and make your own decision. Here is Del Rio's comments which can be found yesterday in the Post Gazette and on the Jags webpage:

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio added his voice to the growing list of complainants contending that the Indianapolis Colts are illegally enhancing crowd noise for their games in the RCA Dome.
An item on Jaguars.com, the team's official Web site, noted yesterday that Del Rio had complained about piped-in crowd noise internally but did not say anything publicly until now.
"They've done it for a long time," Del Rio said.
He credited media reports last week for bringing it out in the open.
"Maybe this will end it," Del Rio said.

"Time To Talk Some Trash!"

Loudmouth WR Chad Johnson tucked a terrible towel into his shirt and gave an interview to local Cincinnati reporters today. He stated he just was eating and did not want to get any crumbs on his shirt. In the interview he called out Ike Taylor and said he looked forward to competing against someone who is making a name for himself as one of the better cover corners in the league. Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh

These pics are of Anita, myself, and Penny Mclaughlin of Oakland, MD taken two years ago at da Bungles game. Sorry for the lack of black and gold on that day, but it was cold as the Penguins ice surface that day. This is the season that we struggled and finished at 6-10. On this particular day we took the lead with under two minutes left in the game but left too much time on the clock. We gave up too much field position on the kickoff and John Kitna marched them right down the field and scored to win the game. I hope we have better luck this weekend with da Bungles.

The Steelers held their annual charity fashion gala recently.

Steelers players and their families hit the runway for Steelers Style 2005, a high-style, high-energy fashion show.The event, which was held at the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel, combined a dinner and fashion show produced by Saks Fifth Avenue.The show benefited the Thomas E. Starzl Tranplantation Institute at UPMC and the Cancer Caring Center.

Here are some pics from some of our more popular Steelers. In September I sent a pic of Troy and a female that I assumed was his girlfriend from training camp this year in Latrobe. In going through the pics from the fashion show on the Steelers site I noticed that this lady was actually Troy's wife named Theodora.
